transcribing media?
Do folks have any recommendations on an easy way to digitize old VHS tapes and cassette tapes? My dad is sending me a whole bunch of old tapes of my childhood and I'd like to get them converted into digital media so I can start archiving them with all my other digital media.

crazy marching band action tonight!
One of my co-workers tipped me off to an awesome event tonight in West Oakland. The Extra-Action Marching Band is performing tonight at 9pm at 1284 W. Grand Ave, West Oakland. (Check out the video at http://www.extra-action.com/video/ to see what they are about)

This is just over a block away from my house! I'm going to throw a little pre-party at my place starting at 7pm. Swing on by and we can walk over to the event. I've got enclosed vistor parking at my place where you can park your car. If you are going to swing by, drop me a line!

I got back late yesterday from my first motorcycle rally, Americade. I rode up to the Lake George region in New York with 50,000 other bikers to enjoy the beauty and twisty roads of the area. Overall, I road more than 1,200 miles in the past week. Photos will be posted shortly, but perhaps the most important fact that I wish to convey is that my ass hurts. A lot.
